We had not one, but TWO major leaks in the kitchen and master bath of our new and completely remodeled home. It was a slow process and hard to get guidance at first, but one of the supervisors named Skylar got involved and he was AMAZING!! He walked me through the process, giving me assurance and peace of mind. He was also able to help move things along quickly to get us back in our home as soon as possible. I’m so grateful for him and all his knowledge and help.

Amazing customer service! My agent Tiffany McCall was there for me every step of the way. She was able to simplify the whole claim process. She contacted me almost every day to make sure I was kept up to date. Tiffany went above and beyond all expectations. Thanks Tiffany for turning a terrible situation into an enjoyable one!

How to Buy a Policy

Universal has partnerships with hundreds of insurance agencies throughout Florida. The company helps you to get in touch with an agent near you directly from its website. A phone number and address are provided after you enter your zip code.

If you prefer to stay online, Universal also offers a “direct” option, which means you don’t have to speak with an agent or customer service representative. The company’s portal allows you to fill in a questionnaire and then purchase your policy online.

Discounts offered

According to its website, Universal offers “significant” discounts to policyholders whose homes, condos or apartments have loss reduction feature that qualify under the state-approved discount program.

In order to determine your eligibility for these discounts, you must first submit an inspection form completed by a qualified inspector.

How to make payments

Universal does not directly accept payments via credit or debit card.

It accepts ACH Payments via phone or online using the routing and account number from your US Based Checking or Savings account.

The company also accepts checks and certified funds mailed in. It is an electronic recipient for online bill payment providers, and currently listed as “Universal Property Casualty INS”.

How to File a Claim

In the event you need to file a claim, Universal allows you to do so entirely online. This can be a seamless process for many individuals. There is also a “fast track” program available.

However, if your claim is a result of a disaster or catastrophe, getting in touch with a real representative may be the better option, although trickier. During the last hurricane in 2017, Universal warned customers of delays in regards to filing claims.

Because of this, Universal now offers a “sophisticated computer telephony system” which redirects your messages to other representatives who will get back to you.

  • Catastrophe excess of loss
