Affluent-focused insurer Berkley One has announced its expansion to Florida, bringing with it a range of options for home, auto, liability and travel insurance.

According to a statement, Berkley One has launched operations in Florida and Ohio. It has also extended its flood insurance product in Ohio, New York and Connecticut.

Insurance solutions from Berkley One are now available in Florida, Ohio, New York, Connecticut, Illinois, Colorado, Arizona, Minnesota, and Wisconsin.

The company, which began in 2017, focuses on “sophisticated individuals,” and offers coverage for home, automobile, fine art and collectibles, excess liability, and travel. Berkley One now covers 46 percent of the US high-networth auto and home market.

Berkley One president Kathleen Tierney says Florida is an important market.

"Florida is a place where many of our clients and potential clients have secondary and vacation homes. We’re excited to provide coverage in this pivotal state and meet the needs of individuals, families and agents we serve across the country,” she says.

“Similarly, our launch into Ohio deepens our Midwest reach and enables us to serve more clients and agency partners.”

Tierney explains that the decision to expand to new states and create a flood product comes after engaging with independent agents.

“We have a culture of co-creation here at Berkley One. As we built our flood product, we invited agent partners into our product design lab, and learned through iteration what our clients and agents needed most,” she says.
